Pumpkin Patch Day!

Last Saturday Albert and I spent the day with Kaylee, Eric, and Kaylee's mom, we went to a pumpkin patch and then back to Kaylee's for a bbq for Kay's birthday! When we got to the patch we saw an awesome opportunity.......slingshotting pumpkins! Doesn't that sound awesome? Well it was! There were targets out in the field that if you hit on the fly you won a pumpkin, and I was so close so many times, but Eric actually hit it and won a pumpkin!  After we finished there we grabbed some food, and headed out into the land of pumpkins, and picked out our favorite ones. Then after we weighed our pumpkins we got some roasted corn (which was amazing!) When we were finally done we took off to Kaylee's. We spent the evening eating and playing games which was really fun! I don't have any pictures of that however, but here are the pictures of the morning!

Here we are with our slingshotting pumpkins....this always happens when I ask him to take a picture with me.

A better picture :)

Winners!!!!

This past Friday was our ward Halloween party which was a chili cookoff and a pumpkin carving contest. For some reason I just had this desire to participate, so I made the chili, and Albert carved the pumpkin. Albert and I thought it would be interesting to try making chili with pineapple in it, so I looked online and found one that I thought would be simple and yummy (which I improvised on). So Friday at lunchtime, I threw everything into the crockpot (recipe to come later) and, then just left it alone. I was sort of nervous to taste it but when I did it was so yummy!!!! It did need a little more pineapple in my opinion, so I had Albert go get some while I was at practice. The activity was at 6:30 and you had to bring your pumpkins ready to carve, so Albert had done that earlier in the day, and we took our pumpkins, our chili, and we went and picked up a disabled boy in our ward who wanted to come and we were off! So when you got there you put your chili on the table in order from mild to spicy (mine was next to last on spice), and then had to name it, we named ours Pineapple Pleasure, and then the judges got their chili first. I waited to go get chili until the line was shorter and by the time I got to my chili it was almost gone, so I barely got a bowl! After people were done eating it was time to carve the pumpkins, which we didn't know was timed haha luckily Albert is quick! Our inspiration for our pumpkin came from.......

Here is Albert when he finished.......

So then they announced the winners for the chili, and I got second place!!!! I was so excited, I have never made chili before, and it was the first one gone!!! Then they announced the pumpkin winners and Albert won first place!!! So then we got home and we lit a candle in it and put it on our front porch and I had to call mom because I couldn't remember the words to the Jack o' Lantern song, can you believe it, we sing it every year! But anyway, I didn't do that before I took pictures of the pumpkin with the prize that we won. And here is the chili picture as well.....

and last but not least the infamous recipe for.....

Pineapple Pleasure

1 14 ounce can crushed pineapple (I used more, but it is a matter of preference)
1 lb Ground Pork
1 15 oz can kidney beans
1 16 oz jar salsa (your choice, this can add or take away from the spice)
1 8 oz can tomato sauce
1 Tbl chili powder

Brown pork in sauce pan on stove.
While browning meat, combine drained kidney beans, pineapple, salsa, tomato sauce, and chili powder, in crock pot.
Add meat to crock pot once browned.
Stir together and turn on low for 7-8 Hours.

Enjoy!!!!

Life just Happens

In the end everything will be alright, and if it's not alright, then it's not the end.

This quote was given to us in church this sunday and I just loved it. Little did I know that it would come into play in my life immediately after, and that I would be living it. Yesterday morning my boss came into work and informed me that he would no longer be keeping this office and that we had about 2 1/2 weeks to find a new place and get moved out. He also let me know that because of the way business has been going he was cutting me down from 8 hours a day to 4. That was a lot to take in, in about one sentence. So I waited until he left, cried a little bit, talked to Ginny, Mom, and my husband, and realized that it wasn't the end. I just needed to keep on keepin' on because everything was not alright yet. Luckily yesterday was a holiday for schools so I did not have to go to practice, so Albert his sisters and I, spent the rest of the day (after my new 4 hour day) searching for a new place to live, contemplating a new job for me, and reporting back to mom. We found some things that sound like they would be perfect, but if those don't work out we are going to continue looking, we also realized that in order to make any sort of payment with out my income, we would have to sell my truck. So that is something we are working on also. I am very excited because we are going to the temple on Saturday, and I look forward to the opportunity to be as close to my Heavenly Father as I can possibly be, so that I can be comforted, and we can hopefully figure out the reason for all of this. I am grateful for a loving family both Shaver and Davis that so willingly came to our aid. I love all of you and can not imagine my life without you.

Just remember...
In the end everything will be alright, and if it's not alright, then it's not the end.

My Amazing Husband

So this Saturday I had an all day tournament in Mount Vernon, and when I got home I came home to this..........

The last picture is Albert's shelf heehee, and the blue pillow by the window is Patch's new perch! I was just so happy I have been trying to find a better way to organize my shoes for a long time and he just took over! I am so blessed to have a husband who loves and supports me as much as he does.

Well more later, Love you all

I know I know

Ok so I thought that I would start my blogging make up by posting this picture of our new little baby. I am about 14 weeks now and am feeling great. I get to go into the doctor again in about a month so that should be fun!!! And just for a little update, we just moved into a house that my boss is leasing for an office so it has been pretty hectic for us. I just love working out of my house it is so nice to just be able to be home in my own environment!! My volleyball team is doing great, there are still definitely a lot of kinks that need to be ironed out but we are undefeated in our league so that is great. I get to start playing in a womens volleyball league pretty soon (don't worry it will be light playing) and so I am very excited about that!!! Well that is all for now...don't fret more is to come!!!!
